Ven Pongal/ Khara Pongal Ven Pongal/ Khara Pongal

Ven Pongal/ Khara Pongal is a South Indian cuisine, which is really famous for its great taste and simplicity. Its usually offered as an naivedyam foods. This recipe is really quick to make. The main ingredient is whole black pepper, which is added. If you donot like the taste of biting into it, then you can even crush the black pepper and add. It tastes great with the whole ones though and I prefer the whole black pepper one. It is one of the best comfort food, which is so light on stomach and yet so tasty. Traditionally, the rice which is used for pongal is seeraga samba rice, if you donot have access to this, you can also use Sona masoori rice or Govindo bhog rice.
