Neerdosa is yet another variety of dosa from the traditional Karnataka cuisine. The word ‘neer’ translates to ‘water’ in tulu language, which means water dosa. These doas are called such because the batter is watery and not thick as batter of the usual dosa. This dosa unlike other dosa batter, the neerdosa is made purely from rice and combined along with coconut. The coconut not only gives the batter a good taste, but also gives it a soft texture. If you have never made RavaDosa or NeerDosa before, then this dosa will take a little practice to get the desired consistency of the batter and the texture. You can serve the NeerDosa along with Manoli Curry (Indian Gherkins Curry) or Egg Curry for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.

  1. Soak the rice overnight or atleast 4-5 hours.
  2. The next morning, wash the rice in running water
  3. Add rice , beaten rice and grated coconut and form a nice mixture.
