Masala Chai/ Masala Tea/ Spiced Tea


Chai, when we hear the word! It sparks us up. We Indians love chai, well most of us though. Chai is our favourite beverages. My mother would get a headache , if she dint get her chai timely. And after marriage, my husband could literally live on chai. So i had to put up this post. In Masala Chai recipe, the masala varies region to region. I am sharing my method of preparing chai, the masalas and the milk quantity can be changed as per your taste and liking. The recipe can be doubled or lessen as per requirement. Note: Whenever you are adding Ginger to your MILK TEA, make sure it has Sugar in it, otherwise it has chances of curdling. So always add sugar in the milk, before adding the ginger.


  1. Firstly, take a pan and boil the water.
  2. Crush the masala mentioned under masala in a mortar-pestle and add it to the boiling water.
  3. Add the tea leaves.
  4. Let it brew for 3-4 minutes.
  5. In a separate pan, heat the milk.
  6. And the sugar in the milk.
  7. In the sugar dissolved milk, add this to the boiling water mixture.
  8. let it brew for another 3-4 minutes.
  9. Your favourite cuo of chai is absolutely ready.
  10. Have it with Biscuits/ Cookies or Pakoras :)
