KadaiPaneer is a mouthwatering recipe made from paneer cooked in gravy made of onions, capsicum, tomatoes and traditional Indian spices. It’s considered as one of the most popular Indian curries and cooked throughout the world. This is the best replacement for chicken and best dish for pure vegetarians. This irresistible aromatic dish is easy to cook and served as an entree in most restaurants and dhabas. KadaiPaneer can be enjoyed with roti/chapati, plain parantha, naan or flavored rice like Jeera rice.


  1. Powder finely red chilies and coriander seeds in a blender
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté onions, cashews until onions turn brown
  3. Add tomatoes and saute soft
  4. Cool this and blend to smooth paste. Set this aside
  5. In the same pan, add little oil and sauté onions and capsicum on high flame till half done and crunchy.
  6. Add paneer and leave for 1-2 minutes
  7. Set all these aside
  8. Add little more oil and heat up the pan.
  9. Saute ginger garlic paste until raw smell goes away
  10. Add the ground coriander chili powder and sauté for one minute
  11. Add ground onion tomato paste and sauté for 2 minutes. Add garam masala and red chili powder if needed
  12. Saute for another 2 minutes
  13. Add ½ - ¾ cup water and salt. Allow it to boil until the gravy thickens
  14. Add kasurimethi. Stir well.
  15. Add the sautedpaneer, capcisum and onion. Stir well. Switch off the stove.
  16. Add ginger strips and coriander leaves. Cover and rest for 2 minutes
  17. Transfer to a serving bowl and allow to rest for atleast 15 minutes before serving
  18. Kadaipaneer gravy is now ready to be served with roti, paratha or jeera rice.
