Egg Dosa is a delicious snack from South India. This is simple and easy to prepare. There are various ways you can make this egg dosa, using either the scrambled eggs or an omelette. Protein rich Egg Dosa makes a great breakfast especially for kids Proteins are essential to our body to perform a variety of tasks that includes cellular maintenance, growth and functioning of human body and creation of every new cell. When you are making this egg dosa at home, you can prepare it with homemade dosa batter and also you can use less oil. Egg dosa is a very popular recipe it can be served with curry or spice powder or with veggies.


  1. Note: Always take rice and urad dal in 3:1 proportion
  2. Wash the rice, and take a bowl, soak the rice and urad dal separately in water, for 6-8 hrs.
  3. Now, take a mixer jar add rice and grind it into a smooth paste by adding required amount of water.
  4. Next mix both rice and urad dal paste and ferment it overnight.
  5. After fermentation add some salt and if the batter is too thick add some water.
  6. Making of Egg Dosa:
  7. Take a bowl add chopped onions, chopped green chilli and grated carrot mix them all and keep it aside.
  8. Heat a non-stick pan or iron tawa, add a drop of oil and rub half an onion on it.
  9. Once, it is heated pour the batter in the centre in the circular shape make a dosa and sprinkle little amount of oil around the edges of dosa to cook it.
  10. Next, if the dosa is cooked to a golden brown colour, reduce the heat and pour the egg in the centre of dosa.
  11. Next, break the egg yolk with a spoon and spread it evenly all over the dosa.
  12. After that add all the veggies and spread it gently all around the dosa.
  13. Now, add the oil all around edges of the dosa.
  14. Turn the dosa to other side and allow it to cook until the egg has done well.
  15. Next flip it again back and cook until the dosa becomes crispier.
  16. Now, the tasty Egg dosa is ready. Serve it hot with Chutney.
