Badusha Sweet


This is a famous sweet and a very tasty one. A lot of people love Badusha. This is mostly made during Diwali, otherwise also can be made anytime of the year. This sweet stays for 3-4 days minimum when stored in an air tight container properly. Badusha is crispy outside and soft inside. Really Delectable.


  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the ghee, curd and baking soda together to get a smooth texture.
  2. Add this mixture to the flour,and mix to form a bread crumb consistency.
  3. Now, Add water and make a smooth dough.
  4. Make lemon sized balls from the dough and in the lemon sized balls, make a dent in the center.
  5. Now prepare the sugar syrup, Add water, sugar, lemon, saffron and cardamom in it. Boil the sugar syrup, till it forms a string like consistency.
  6. Now heat ghee in a kadhai, add the badusha one by one.
  7. Cook the badusha in low flame, till its golden brown in color.
  8. Do not cook in high flame.
  9. Soak the fried badusha in sugar syrup.
  10. Garnish with chopped almond and pista.
  11. Badusha tastes best when kept overnight in sugar syrup.
