A dry recipe, Aloo Capsicum made with right ingredients tastes awesome with some Phulkas or side dish with dal and rice. This recipe is simple to make and you can also pack this for tiffin as well. Aloo capsicum is mainly a north indian dish but the ones who like capsicum will surely love this one. This hardly requires a few ingredients which are always available in our Indian Kitchen.


  1. Firstly, wash peel and cut the potatoes in cubes.Also, cut the capsicum in cubes. And dice the Onion.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil and splutter the cumin seeds.
  3. Add the pinch of Hing / Asofetida ( Optional)
  4. Add the diced/ Chopped Potatoes.
  5. Add the salt and spices, which are cumin coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder.
  6. Cover and cook till the potatoes are half done.
  7. Add the diced onions in the pan.
  8. Coat it well with the masalas.
  9. After 5 mins, when the potatoes are almost done, add the diced capsicum.
  10. Toss the spices very well, let it cook for another 5 mins.
  11. Add the amchoor powder and garam masala. Check the salt.
  12. Cook for another two minutes.
  13. Aloo Capsicum dish is ready to be served.
  14. It goes well with Phulkas and even as a side dish with Dal and rice.
